Lids for LivesPosted: October 3, 2011
October is breast cancer awareness month. The annual campaign is organized by major breast cancer charities to help increase awareness of this terrible disease. Each charity donates money to go towards more research in a hope to one day find a cure.
In 2011, it is predicted that 230,480 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in the U.S. alone. Nearly 40,000 of these women are expected to die from this disease. You can help change these numbers.
Starting October 1, Lasell College will be joining with General Mills to make a difference. You will see pink Yoplait boxes at the Campus Center, Glow Café, and Wolfe Café. When you purchase a yogurt make sure to put your lid in the box. For every lid returned by December 31, Yoplait will donate 10 cents to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
On October 6th, General Mills will be joining Lasell College in Valentine Dining Hall to kick-off the Yoplait Save Lids to Save Lives event taking place for the month of October. Come enjoy the pink cupcakes and cookies to raise awareness for this important cause. You will also see featured Fuze, Honest Tea, and Otis Spunk Meyer Cookies on campus as well.
Help support in the fight against breast cancer, because one day we will find a cure.
