Halloween spirit on a student budgetPosted: October 19, 2011
My roommates and I love decorating for the holidays. With Halloween creeping up quick, we spent most of the month decorating our room with festive little things for the spooky day. Most of our decor has come from our parents, or little things we find while out shopping. We have spider webs, bats, skeleton candle holders and pumpkins galore.
Newton and its surrounding towns offer great places to get geared up for the holidays. The United Parish of Auburndale holds a pumpkin fundraiser every year with pumpkins ranging from $1-$20 depending on their weight. A few other churches in the area create pumpkin patches every year with the same price ranges.
You can also swing over to the Natick Mall or Shoppers World where they have stores like Marshalls, Target and Home Goods that offer a plethora of inexpensive decorations for the holidays. It doesn’t take a lot of money to make your room look cute and homey… or spooky and scary if you like!
