War No More

By: Carlton Lentini

The war that started in 2003 and lasted through 2011, took the lives of over 4,000 Americans will finally come to an end. The President of the United States, Barack Obama announced that all U.S. troops will come home from Iraq by the end of this year. At that point Obama can declare an end to the American-Middle Eastern war that has gone on long enough.

Obama said “After nearly nine years, America’s war in Iraq will be over, the coming months will be a season of homecomings. Our troops in Iraq will definitely be home for the holidays.” http://ow.ly/7eEfz

Students at Lasell College are especially happy about the recent news regarding the long fought war. One student, Brian McQuin; a member of the Air Force had this to say about the recent news, “All of my buddies and me can’t explain what it feels like for this to be over. I have a lot of friends in the Marines and they talk to me about everything they go through over there. It’s not pretty. I’m happy about the news let’s just get these last months over with!”

Lasell College will have big smiles on their faces at the start of the new year when the troops finally get home to their families.
