The Boston Bruins come into the 2011-2012 season as the defending Stanley Cup Champions, as they captured their sixth title last season. After a slow 3-7-0 start, the Bruins rode a 10-game win streak to climb on top of the Northeast Division.Second-year forward Tyler Seguin continues his early career dominance while playing along side forwards Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand. Conn Smythe Trophy winner (playoff MVP) Tim Thomas remains a force in net for Boston, as he’s perhaps on track to win his third Vezina Trophy for best goalie.

The New Jersey Devils currently stand at 31-19-3 with 65 points. They are third in the Atlantic Division, and fifth in the Eastern Conference. After failing to make the playoffs last season, the Devils look to have a successful 2012 campaign. Future Hall of Fame goaltender Martin Brodeur returns for his 18th season in the NHL, all with New Jersey. Captain Zach Parise, the 27-year-old forward from Minneapolis, MN, leads the Devils in what they hope to be their first Stanley Cup season since 2003.

The last time these teams met was on January 19th in New Jersey. The Bruins defeated the Devils, 4-1.
