By Will Henry

On Tuesday the 21, the Lasell College Men’s Basketball team will face judgment day, or the first round of the GNAC (Great Northeast Atlantic Conference) playoff rounds. The men’s team has entered the playoffs as the third seed with a three way tie between them, Emmanuel, and Johnson and Wales (RI). Each of the three teams have a GNAC record of 11 wins and 7 losses and an overall season record of 12 wins and 13 losses.

The team will play Emmanue at Lasell at 7p.m. Lasell gained home court advantage over Emmanuel for the game tonight due to a victory over Norwich University up in Northfield, Vermont. During this game, Lasell guard/forward Sean Bertanza passed the 1,000 career point mark by sinking his only three point shot early during the second half of the game and finished with a total of 19 points. Guard Arthur Alexander led the lasers in scoring with a career high of 27 points and by going an impressive seven out of ten from the three point line. Seniors Javon Williams and Nate Disessa each finished with point totals of 20 and 3 points each for their final regular season games. The team knows that this could be the last “hurrah” for certain players. Both Williams and Disessa are graduating at the end of the school year and they will be missed as players and classmates, and not to mention dear friends to many of the students here on campus. The entire team will surely be committed to win for these two, knowing that they won’t get another shot at it as college athletes.
