Shamrock Slam ThursdayPosted: February 28, 2012

Lasell College on Thursday night it’s Shamrock Slam. This is an event hosted by Lasell College Radio (LCR) to help celebrate and bring in St. Patrick’s Day.
Last year, this event was held for the first time in Lasell College history as a test sample to see how the students would react to it. The event was a success as more than two hundred students took part, partying the night away. LCR is hoping to expand that by making this year’s event more exciting.
There is a prize to be given out to the top three students that are dressed the most in green colored garb, whether it be clothing or any other kind of accessories. They will be awarded home court Boston Celtic’s tickets for a game this season. That’s a far lucky the leprechaun leap from the measly, cheap, plastic toys that were awarded last year for the best outfits.
Another big addition to this year’s Shamrock Slam is the pizza from Domino’s. Brian Wardyga, faculty advisor, and Jay Gildea, radio station manager, got Domino’s as a station sponsor. How great of a deal is that?
Admittance to this event is free but you must present a student ID in order to enter, which sadly means no friends outside of campus are allowed. The doors for this event open at 9p.m. in the student center and the event runs until midnight. There will be no admittance after 11p.m. so if you are planning to attend show up before early to get in.
