Lacrosse success at Lasell Day

By Will Henry

Once every school year, during the last full weekend in the month of March, Lasell College holds an event for high school students that are interested  in coming to the college next year. That event is call Lasell Day. Not only are there speeches given by the top students that are involved in each of  the education departments the school offers, there is a huge feast with a display of many foods such as sandwiches, chips and dip, and multiple kinds of beverages for the possible students to choose from to help persuade them into choosing Lasell as their college destination.

But speeches, food, and drinks are not the only things that take place during Lasell Day. The Lasell men’s and women’s lacrosse teams took the field during Lasell day to show students the valueof the  Lasell Athletic Department. The women’s team played first against the Anna Maria Amcats and showed a tour of strength and force as they routed their opponents with a score of 21 to 1. Next up was the Men’s team up against the Norwich University Cadets, a military school that most likely considered themselves as proud and great a program as Lasell. The Lasell men’s team showed the same kind of strong and tenacious play as the women did before them, and sent the military men back to their boot camp right after defeating them to a score of 8 to 5. The lacrosse teams did not disappoint their athletic program that day and probably encouraged a couple of lacrosse playing high school students to join their ranks next school year.

As you can see, Lasell Day isn’t just about the speeches or the food and drinks. Its also about the Athletic Department and the students that represent our school through sports.
